This game was really well made! I enjoyed every second of it! Love the story and the little easter egg of the chicken! Cant wait for more episodes!

I love how a normal workday went to the bizarre. Also loved the chicken cameo - LOL.  Nice episode.

I enjoyed this 2nd episode of One-Way Ticket!
I liked the fact that it was a bit longer than the first one and that there was a bit more to explore.
For some reason the jumpscares didn't really get me in this one tho'...
But still, nice job!

Loved this so much, and I can't wait for episode 3!!!!

Had so much fun with both this and episode 1!

A great addition to the first episode, I feel like it was a lot more flushed out and I can see more big things coming from this!

All I can say. WOW.

I don't get the story because first it was a chicken and then it was zombies!? anyway it was a good game.

I love the second episode its a pretty fun short game

but for me i dont know where to go because there is no indication like arrows pointing in the factory or pointing at the house thats why i died in the first try xD after i realize that my soda is green so my house will also be green xD but anyway a pretty fun little game i would surely play if there is another one

Love this episode! The zombies souded hilarious and they ran maybe a little TOO fast, but they weren't very harmful so it really didnt matter unless you just let them kill you lol. Other than that the fact that you can change items is kind of useless since you don't actually NEED to do that. So maybe in the future with the next episode, or with any updates to this episode, maybe make it to where you either need to switch items or don't include it at all. Walking over curbs was also a little wonky, but not so bad. Overall, I love both episodes so far! Keep up the great work!

Thank you, I really appreciate that and your playthrough! Yeah, the fast walking was actually lifted directly from Afraid of Monsters + Cry of Fear hahaha

It was one of my favorite "freak out" tactics from those games, and they did a similar thing where the zombies would approach fast and attack slow so they weren't unfairly threatening. I agree that item switch is kind of pointless without having more items, and yeah, those curbs were actually the last thing I added to the game before I had to turn it in, so I didn't get a chance to add some "invisible collision ramps" to fix it up a bit! Thank you for the feedback and for posting your playthrough!

I'm gonna be honest I liked the first one a lot more because the zombies in this one were really annoying to deal with when I really just wanted to see where the story was going. Maybe if you made them a little easier to kill I would of enjoyed it better.  I was also expecting this one to be connect to the Ep. 1 but it was different game play and a different story so I am a bit confused and let down.

The description says the episodes aren't connected, it's episodic like the Twilight Zone, not episodic like The Walking Dead. I'm kinda confused that people think that expanding on the chicken would be a good idea, as it seems like a dead end if you ask me. The story was meant to be a one off like all episodes of this series. As for the zombies, they are actually made so you can run past them, that's actually how you achieve the good ending. It's intentional that you don't have enough bullets to even get through half of them. I'll take the difficulty into consideration in the next one in any case.

Sorry this one didn't live up to your expectations, but I stand by the choices I made for this episode and I very much consider it a step forward. I hope to see your review of the next one.

So right off the bat, loved it. It was really fun to play and just as good as the first one! (Video below if anyone is interested, but other than that sorry for the long review and have a great day!)

Again, I think the graphics suited the overall tone and atmosphere and rather than just be only graphics, added to the complete game and elevated the experience. The two jump scares were actually not bad and scared me the first time I played through it (I read in a comment that you called them cheap, but I would argue that they were well placed and you used them well enough to get a scare out of the player.) Don't know if this has multiple endings as well; I got one of the endings, and I think you get the second one by not killing anyone in the corn field or maybe gone to the larger factory's boss earlier in the game? (I think, didn't try to get it sadly.) Correct me if I'm wrong though.

Again, I think that the multiple endings is a great way to get more players to play through the game again and hunt for more clues,so good job keeping that, makes it more incentivising to keep the players playing more.

The open and exploreable area was a nice refresher from the last game; I thought it was good as players can take their own time to explore and take in the enviroment. I do understand that you were in a time limit for the Game jam, but I felt like there was more you could have done for easter eggs and such to make the exploration rewarding. For example maybe a newspaper clipping or multiple small clippings of the restaurant's tragedy from the previous game or maybe a little clue as to what might have happened after the first game from a note or something. Could even have been an image that would foreshadow what might happen later on in the game. Maybe putting a journal entry or a photo near the mansion of the woman mught have made the player think that something was wrong. Again, I do understand that there was not a lot of time, but if you do any updates, I do suggest doing small things like that. It would make the players feel rewarded to explore and also make them more invested into the story. Other than that, I think the chicken pecking at the sandwich was a cute little easter egg and call back to the previous game!

Other than that, it was pretty fun to go to the other factory and talk to the other dude in there. The script was well made and was comical. Though I do wish there was a little more suspicion in the way the factory owner and the mansion lady acted. No need to extend the script by a lot, maybe a line or two about how the factory guy would never do anything to take over the Green Soda company in a suspicious way. And maybe make the lady mention him as well, that way there are lines drawn enough so that the player realises that there might be something wrong by the time the character wakes up and everything seems wrong.

But I liked how things go from zero to a hundred, the slower exploration phase at the start of the game needed something to happen, and the speed at which things go wrong at the house party helped pace things along well. The fight was well made. While I was playing it and faced it the first time, I wished it were a lot slower paced and the lady was slower. But after playing it, i think that the speed helped with the overall pace of the game as well as serve as a good introduction to the umbrella mechanic, which was also very funny! Though maybe slowing it down would be better as many other players would find this part hard (More on this in a bit as well.) And a quick suggestion; you don't necessarily have to slow down the lady, all you would have to do is add a little more furniture, that way it acts as temporary barrier allowing the player to manoeuvre around and give them time to take her down. Hence you would be slowing things down without actually slowing anything down.

But from there till the end, i thought was pretty good!  Seeing the corn maze the start did make it feel like things went full circle and satisfying that the player would go through it but still make it seem a little dreadful. So the are ayou kept the corn maze I think was perfect and you knew what you were doing there. One thing that would have made this part a little better was to maybe make a sound scare or footsteps or maybe someone walking on tyhe other side of the road while going back to the office; I don't know, it just seemed like the perfect time to do it since everything was dark and climactic (Or maybe there was something, and I didn't notice, so sorry if that is the case.)

The maze itself was great! I think that the sound of the ghostly hikers were perfect. The darkness, the sounds and the maze itself was very well designed and the corns definitely blocked out the view of the player well enough for the hikers to be scary. So I thought that you did the maze REALLY well and it was perfect.

It was both funny and ominous at the same time and the first time I went through it, I was genuinely scared. And I especially loved the small detail you did where the bodies twitch about and also make a dark and scary sound when they rag doll and die- I was confused and scared when it first happened! So that was very well done! Another small detail I noticed was the 13 bullets. 13 generally being regarded as an unlucky number and all; was a fun little detail you put in there! And how three shots to the body or two shots to the head killed the ghost hikers. So again, the small details were well thought through and implemented well!!

Now the only thing that I'm torn between while playing this is the ghostly hikers themselves. I thoroughly was on the edge of my seat the first time I went through the maze and they were challenging enough to attack and kill. BUT, that was only the first time. When you know where they are coming from, it takes away the scariness from both the game and the maze. Like I said before, the maze was done really well and the reason it was scary was because you could not see into the maze all too well and that's where the hikers pop out from. So knowing where the come from takes away the scariness and the combat, was a tad bit hard I would say. Mainly because the hikers were a bit too fast; it worked really well for the first fight, but when you can't see them in the maze + they move around really fast (especially the side to side movement) it kind of got more annoying than scary. So maybe tone down their movement? But like I said from at the start of the paragraph, this is where I was torn. Because as annoying as it was to conk them in the head with the umbrella and shoot them with the gun, after playing it, I realised that it wasn't that bad and was still pretty enjoyable BECAUSE it was challenging. So the only thing I would suggest to make a tad scarier would be to make the spawns random, because a random enemy spawn (with a limited amount of enemies of course) would work so well with the well made maze and make ti scary throughout the corn field area. Other than that, I think this part was still well made though! It wasn't too hard to get through and wasn't too large of an area. So you made it pretty well!

The house "puzzle" was well thought three. I actually didn't catch on to it until I was editing the game play footage, and I face palmed hard. It was a fun and well made puzzle (If I can call it a puzzle.) While I was playing, I was originally thinking that the finding house part was too hard, but now I know that I wasn't paying enough attention to the top left mission bar.  So after having played it, I say do not change it. It's well thought through and a good hint to which house the player has to go to!

Other than that, I found it a little strange that this game was not the same aspect ratio as the last one? (I think at least? Or maybe I did something wrong. Not quite sure.) I think it was a tad smaller on the top and bottom. And didn't go full screen, which the first game did. But I'm just nit picking here, so don't pay this part too much attention.

One last thing I would like to mention is that the story didn't match up properly. There were quite a few plot holes, even at the end of the game. A few plot holes from the top of my head ->

- Why does the lady suddenly turn into a ghost/ zombie?

- Did such events happen before? (People seeing other people as zombies and killing them)

- Did the factory owner spike the food or lady spike the drink?

So the story does need a little more polishing and added onto a tad more to make it seem whole and understandable. I thought it did make sense but was missing some key elements in order to explain itself. I'm all for stories that seem mysterious and the player has to put everything together at the end, but this story was missing some things that couldn't eb explained like the things above. And the newspaper at the end was great, I liked how it showed that something maybe happening that the player couldn't see while playing the game, but again it faced the same problem of telling a story but not enough to even a vague connection to be made. But again, I do understand time restraints, so in thetime you had, I think you've done as much as you can and a stellar job at making a story from this episode.

So, my ultimate thoughts? It's a great game. And if you do decide to expand on this series, I think you have a great game universe at your hand. Like really, it has so much potential. With the ominous chicken restaurant and now the strange  incident that is making people think others are zombies. I think you could make it into a whole universe/ multiverse (and monetising such linked games would be really profitable.) But yeah, other than a little more explanations in the stories (such as mentioned above and even the first game. Like an article could be found that a lot of employees were found missing and that the restaurant had a secret recipe. I mean, my theorist side is running like a train to explain these games, because it really is an interesting story you're putting together here. Though can do with a lot more reference  and tid bits of story around the place to make it seem more prominent and whole. Probably making a lot of assumptions though. (If any of this did make sense) would take this game from a 10/10 to like a 15/10.

Honestly was a blast to play and I love the little universe you're building; has a TONNE of potential. But yeah, I'm sorry for this huge review, I just enjoyed this game so much and I'm writing this as I'm editing the video so I'm so sorry if it seems all over the place and convoluted and a bit much. You've done a great job on both the episodes! And definitely excited for more! Good luck on your future works and congrats on the success! Keep doing what you're doing and hopefully you're doing all right! (Don't push yourself too hard and it's under stable if the pressure to do one better than the previous work is getting to you. Remember that this is your stoey and you should do it your way! And you can take as many breaks as you need. Though you already know this, no clue why I'm saying all that.) But yeah, honestly and genuinely really fun to play! Keep up the amazing work! Again, sorry for the long, long review..

Thank you for the in-depth review, I really appreciate it! Yeah, I do think I could have done more with the easter eggs for sure, but unfortunately I barely had time to finish the endings as my 10 days in the game jam was up! Sorry about that!

I see you mentioned that, in your review actually, so I'll definitely try to fit more of that kind of thing into it, as I think you're right that that kind of polish is what really impresses people. I agree with you also that the actions of the conspirators should've been a little more obvious since some people were confused by how friendly they were and didn't get the proper feeling that they were fake and up to no good!

The combat with the hikers is a little tacked on, and it's actually a direct copy of one of my favorite games Afraid of Monsters, and he actually made a newer game called Cry of Fear if you've heard of it where he improved all of the mechanics, so I definitely can already see how those can be improved, in addition to more random placement like you said since the surprise is gone and all that!

Ah yes, and about the fullscreen thing, I actually made it so it doesn't go actual fullscreen unless you wanted it to, but I suppose that made it confusing for some people! I'll have to add it into the options instead. You can actually trigger "Immersive fullscreen mode" by hitting ALT + Enter, and it would look the same as the first one!

I really appreciate all the positive feedback as well as the ideas on how to push the game further for the next one!

And as for that last bit, not at all, I appreciate the comment about taking a break, it really does feel good to hear a reviewer say that! It's pretty easy to forget! Hahaha

Thank you for your time and your opinions, I really do appreciate it! It was very interesting to read your breakdown and I couldn't be happier that you took the time to do so! I hope to see your review of the next episode as well!

is there jumpscares in this game

Yes, there are 2 actually! I would've kept it like the last one, but unfortunately I ran out of time for the game jam, so I used some kinda cheap scares hahaha

Another fantastic installment to One-Way Ticket! Considering how much more there is to ep2 than ep1, i can safely say i can't wait for ep3!

Awesome game! I aboslutely loved the little mystery aspect at the end! I personally really like the style of the game, Mr. Rumpleton was terrifying and the sound that the weird zombie people produced was incredibly disturbing. Love it!

Watch this for tips to finish the game fast and for good silly fun time. Again, love your work consistency 3d. If there's an ep 3 let me know asap.

This was even better than the first!! (for me) This is actually my second playthrough (lost footage for the first). Love the twist at the end--the one you have to do to get the good ending. In my case I "partied" with le demonszz.

Thanks, man, I really appreciate it! That's fantastic to hear!

Thank you for the play-through and the positive feedback, I'll definitely let you know when I finish episode 3! I'm thinking of releasing something small and unrelated before-hand, but I guess we'll see!

Looking forward to seeing more from you!

Hey, man, I got around to watching your play-through, and it was fantastic! I can definitely see why your subscriber count is going up so fast, you've got some jokes! Also it's nice to see you play both episodes at once, I'm a pretty big fan of the double-feature playthroughs!

Thanks for posting, and I'm definitely looking forward to your next one when episode 3 comes out! I appreciate all the postive feedback you gave at the end!

I loved this one!! thought it was better than episode one: like a sitting cluck, this actually freaked me out a bit. I like the story and the twist. Looking forward towards your next project (give my elaborate opinion at the end of the video if you're interested).

Thanks! i'l be impatiently waiting for episode 3 XD i really like your sense of humor

This was absolutely amazing. Such a huge step up from the first episode, which was amazing in its own right. This episode had so much depth and detail, and genuinely made me care about the main character's well being by the ending. This also has some really good scares and truly creepy enemies. I really really REALLY hope there are more episodes on the way! Fantastic game.

(+1)

Thank you so much for the playthrough, I really enjoyed this one! I'm really glad you figured out the combat mechanics, it made it a lot more interesting to watch, plus you found the new game plus! I should have changed the button text for it, I think a lot of people thought you had to start over hahaha

Thanks for posting, and I really hope to see your next one for episode 3!

(1 edit) (+1)

This episode was definitely better than the first episode. It had more dialogue, surprises and character models. What a great game!

(+1)

Thanks, man, I appreciate the play-through! I apologize about those things you complained about, such as the transitions being kind of jarring, getting the gun and flashlight from the office without explanation, the dialogue that drags on etc. That's kinda how these game jam games go hahaha

Thanks for posting!
